Wellsville Fire Department held a dinner at Gunnells park for the 50th Anniversary of the volunteer firefighters of Wellsville, past and present. It was a fun time seeing the men that started the fire department, and hearing their stories. The best was when they were awarded for driving straight into the line of fire, literally, and conquering the blaze. When asked what they were going to do with the award money they said, "Well isn't it obvious?, Buy new brakes."
There are a lot of Maughan's, Leishmans, and men with rich backgrounds in Wellsville that are on the department. It's unusual for someone not home-grown, to get on the fire department. Well Peter has done just that!
