Christmas morning about 7:00 we hear Casey get up, go to the bathroom, and go back to bed. Peter and I look at each other, shrug, and go wake up our kids for Christmas! Corey was still out like a light and was having a hard time coming to...it took him a minute to warm up to all the excitement.
Santa came and brought Brooke a light up lady bug, Casey legos, Brielle a toy, and Corey a bike, as well as some movies, game, and sled. Grandma and Grandpa Call came over about 7:30 to watch the kids open presents. This was their first year at home as empty nesters for Christmas. We were glad they could join us. It was so fun watching the kids excitement. Corey finally warmed up...mostly because he could eat his stocking candy :) He took his new bike for a spin around the kitchen table numerous times. Casey loved his DS we got him and Brooke was thrilled to get a school teacher kit.
Around 11:00 we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Calls for breakfast. It was delicious as always. About noon we came home and watched our new shows. Corey quickly fell asleep, just too much excitement for one day!
Around 4 we headed back to my parents to open presents from them and eat more food. Stacy and Jeremy came out as well.
We all hung out and played while waiting for Elder Justin Call to skype us.
A visit to grandparents wouldn't be complete without cousins playing Mario Kart.
Finally the moment came when Elder Call skyped us! It was so good to talk to him. We skyped about 1 hour!
A new thing I tried this year: my Christ Tree. Pictures of Christ hang on the tree and next to it is a white stocking. Every year we write down what gift each of us will give to Christ each year (like reading scriptures, being kinder, etc). We hang this stocking by our Christ Tree.
It was a wonderful Christmas. We are so blessed, in more ways than I realize. I thank the Lord everyday for Christ in our home, the gospel in our lives, for healthy kids, and an eternal family.
