June: Bear Lake, Teresa Bodrero, Heritage Farm, Nielson Reunion

We went to Bear Lake with the Strawns and Latimers.  We camped near the lake at a grassy area where we could play and have a camp fire.  The night we got there we took a drive and a hike to Bloomington Lake and found snow in June! Kids thought that was pretty fun.  It was gorgeous at the Lake.  The next day we hauled our kayaks to North Shore and swam and played in the water all day.  Lots of fun! Peter and the kids were stopped by a boat while on their kayaks...we didn't know for sure why until they got back we found out Peter knew the guy and he gave everyone t-shirts for wearing their life jackets.

Working on our side yard getting ready to pour the cement wall.
The YW had the opportunity to help Teresa Bodrero do her last 10 hour personal progress project for her.  Teresa is an older lady who is in the ward and became weak and hospitalized and couldn't use her hands well.  Even breathing was hard for her and she could no longer walk. She was one project shy of earning her medallion that she has been working on for years.  So all the YW chipped in 1 hour worth of learning how to paint from Robin Evans and donated their time to her.  We showed her the art work and then me, the RS, and young women went to the sunshine terrace as well as Bro. Clayton and Stake YW leaders to present her medallion to her.  When talking with her she mentioned to me it was her birthday so we made sure to award the medallion to her on her birthday and celebrated with cake.  It was a special afternoon for us as well as her.  It was a neat opportunity for the girls.

Nicki and I took our kids on a bike ride into Wellsville for some splash pad fun and snow cones.

We got a season pass to the Heritage Farm this year to utilize such a fun place right next door to us.  We have had fun exploring it this summer and look forward to spending time there this fall.

It was the Nielson Family Reunion at Marcy's House.  They went above and beyond.  We had a great time with family and cousins galore.  We watched Beauty and the Beast in the sports court, we went tubing and kayaking down the canal, we had bounce houses and slip and slides and water fun, we went on a long fun 4-wheeling ride to a waterfall.  Lots of food and games.  It was a blast.  She also had lots of old pictures around the house of the family that were fun to look at.  Here are a few:

Casey's a stud and is always looking for projects to do and ways he can help around the house.  He's a hard worker!

Corey: Happy Father's Day Dad I hope that yout have a great time. I love you because you play with me. (2017)

We went on a hike as YW to the top of Rattlesnake Trail.  It was a beautiful 5 mile hike to overlook the valley. We had a huge group of us with dads but I didn't get the group picture on here.  Fun times!

Peter game me these flowers for our anniversary.  They were beautiful! I loved them so much and they smelled so good.

The kids make us breakfast in bed for our anniversary and even spelled out 14 with the food for 14 years of marriage.

We spent a lot of time planting trees and bushes in our front yard this year.  I loved my yard! Thanks to Julie Nielson for designing it for me.  I love yard work and watching everything grow!

Schools out which means I get to shop with all the crazies! It's fun!

Brooke Brandt and I made tonz of donuts for national donut day! Neither of us had ever made donuts before so we thought we would experiment together.  It turned out really well and was a lot of fun!

We made donuts on the last day of school which made for a crazy day, not to mention that Peter and Casey were leaving for scout camp that day too! So we made donuts, ran home to welcome all the kids off the bus, went back to finish donuts, came home to send boys off to camp and of course feed them donuts.

We have a fence! I've always wanted a fence for privacy, and now it's happening! Love it!

Brielle finally learned how to ride a bike without training wheels! She's been so close for so long. Yeah!
