Casey's Cow and SEP's

So for scouts Casey was given a bag random pieces like wood, paper plate, 'junk" if you will.  All the scouts were given the same bag and told to invent something for the blue and gold banquet.  Apparently when they were explaining this invention Casey raised his hand and asked if he could build a pile of junk.  Haha.  I laughed, even if it wasn't supposed to be funny :)  So one Saturday Peter and Casey got to work building a cow...it was what Casey wanted to make out of his pile of junk.  Meanwhile Brooke built a cow hat out of magformers.
Casey's end result.  He did a really good job!

Also this past week was Parent Teacher Conferences.  I was very pleased with Casey's report.  His teacher says he is a good help in the class to start all the computers.  He is doing really well in math and reading.  The class average of number of books read is 21, and Casey has read 45.  Same with a computer program they are doing...he has passed off twice as many as the class average.  However, something he needs to work on:  handwriting!  Yes, I knew it all along, it has been our goal for awhile now.  I think his brain thinks faster than he can write so it turns into sloppiness :)  That or what probably is the main reason...he really just doesn't care about handwriting!  Overall he is doing well in school and he loves it.  He has lots of friends that he plays with, he loves to go outdoors and play at recess.
