June was an exciting, fun, and extremely busy month! We went camping with the Strawns and Latimers up in Idaho. We brought 4-wheelers and guns and did lots of both! Casey and I went on a 4-wheeler ride and found snow. I shot my first hand gun and pistol. The kids had fun shooting bb guns and paintball guns, and Casey shot Jared's pistol. It was a wonderful start to summer! Before we left for camping it was the end of school party at the Souters which is always fun! Also the week before school got out was an exciting time for our family. We purchased Bruiser, Peter's new (new to us) truck. We love it! We were working out in the trailer one night, just Casey Peter and I and we got a phone call saying Casey had made the state soccer team he was trying out for. We were thrilled! Then we topped off the week of no school with taking our new truck and trailer and heading out camping. We are blesssed!
The kids also held a lemonade stand. It was a particularly busy day and we weren't home much. The kids woke up early to make invites and brownies and blow up balloons. They had the lemonade set up in the garage so that when we got home later that day they were all ready. They did all the work and had a lot of fun and made a few bucks! We have also been working hard on getting our front yard ready for sod. Late nights and lots of Saturdays later we are super close!
We took the kids to the jump zone and had a blast. The kids loved it. Also we celebrated 13 years of marriage this month! Say what! Time flies! The kids started swim lessons this month as well. They all did great. Corey passed his level, he's a natural fish. Brielle loved swimming but didn't like to put her face in the water, so she needs to retake that level. Brooke and Casey did well!
We also had a girls camp certification night and Peter came and taught the girls CPR among other life saving techniques. It was a fun daddy daughter YW night! We also spent a lot of time getting ready for Trek which is next month! Clothes shopping, and activities with our kids took up a lot of time, but all worth it!
We took the kids bowling and they loved it! Always a good time. Corey started t-ball. He loved it and so did Brielle! She jumped in on all the practices and thought she was just as big as everyone else!
Girls camp was a blast. Super fun, super spiritual. Amazing experiences. One in particular was when a bishopric member's wife came (who was debating about coming) and bore testimony of an exact experience she had that she had never shared before, and one of our YW was experiencing that exact thing, and she had no idea. It was a testimony builder for me that the Lord is aware of us. That girl was also on the fence about coming but came up for just the iron rod activity and testimony meeting. The iron rod activity was also amazing. There were late nights of giggling in the tent, sprinkler pranks, and lots of crafts and a hike. I can't wait until next year!
We also moved Grandma Bracken out of her home and into a nursing home. (I apologize, some of the pictures of her home may be duplicate from the last post). We love our families and are so blessed!
