Motocross 6/12/14

We took the kids to Motocross.  It was really fun!  But truth be told this was a REALLY REALLY hard day for us.  Like REALLY hard.  So Peter had applied for Logan City Fire Department 2 years ago.  Well he didn't get hired then and they haven't hired since, until now.  There were 4 openings, which then went to 3 openings for an EMT-I.  Peter had been told by SEVERAL different people to be expecting a letter. A letter meant you were being pulled from the list and being called for an interview.  A couple weeks went by, still no letter.  Then Travis texted Peter this morning with a picture of his letter. It stated it was pulling the top 11 for interviews and Peter was number 13 on the list.  He missed it by 3 people.  And had that 4th opening still been available his name would have been pulled for interview because they have to have so many applicants per opening.  But luck would have it that he wasn't pulled.  And we found out today that all our hopes and dreams were dashed.  People were asking him when his interview was, yet he didn't even get a letter.  It blew us all away. We were soooooo disappointed beyond words.  We needed to do something to take our minds off it.  This helped tremendously.  Even though there was a silent, hidden burden we were both carrying.  Tooele wasn't our end goal, it was a stepping stone.  Commuting 2 hours one way stunk.  No health coverage, and pay was terrible.  We needed a change.  We needed a change for our family.

After motocross I went home with Stacy (Jeremy was gone fishing with Conner overnight), and slept over for our girls day the next day with Paige and my mom.  Peter took the kids home and spoiled them of course with ice cream on the way home.  We had a good time on our girls day.  Stacy and I first hit the yard sales, oh ya! We then went and met up with my mom and Paige and got me an official pair of running shoes.  Then we went to traverse mountian outlets and shopped around.  Afterward we ate at this delicious place that I can't remember the name of, dang it!  It was a fun day to get away for awhile!
